  • Developed business strategy, set product / pricing policy, managed the supply chain, technical sales service, product publicity and trained sales staff for markets in Europe, North and South America, Australasia and Japan.
'82-'91 Product Development Manager, Colours Division Quest Biocon Ltd., Cork, Ireland
  • Directed the colours product development function both in Ireland and other sites.  Supervised 6 staff with a budget of $250,000, during which time the businesses of Biocon and Quest were rationalised.  
'85-'89 Group Technical Services Manager Quest Biocon Ltd., Cork, Ireland
  • Coordinated the technical sales support, customer services, production technical support and technical information functions for the Enzyme, Colours and Hydrocolloids divisions.  Supervised a staff of 8 and serviced markets in Europe, North / South America, Australasia, Japan, India and Africa.  
'82-85 Food Product Development Manager Quest Biocon Ltd., Cork, Ireland
  • Developed a range of food additives (colour, stabilisers, enzymes) for the dairy, bakery, beverages and agri-industries to extend the Biocon enzyme range.  Carried out feasibility studies, established development laboratories and brought products to commercialisation.  
'79-'82 R&D Project Manager Kerry Foods International, Tralee,
Co. Kerry Ireland.
  • Responsible for all research, development, trouble shooting, product support and technical sales service functions on dairy and vegetable fats and dairy and other protein sources for the Group.  Supervised 3 staff and managed a pilot plant and ancillary laboratory functions.  
'75-'79 Research Biochemist Agricultural Research Institute, Moorepark, Fermoy, Co.Cork, Ireland.
  •  Contracted on a NBST funded research programme to study membrane fractions from milk and their stabilisation functions in dairy products.   A patent was subsequently granted for the work.
